A Magpie meeting.
05/12/2009 10:48:15 by fred east

This summer, on a field near Bleadon, I watched for about half an hour, about a dozen Magpies having a very important discussion together. Each was no more that 2 feet from its neighbour and moved around in the flock on the ground.
After a while they formed smaller groups, some in pairs and at some unheard signal they all started to fly off in their groups or pairs in totally different directions. It was an amazing scene.
