I am currently on holiday in Devon and staying in a cottage adjoining a small river.
There is a small bird about 14cm in length which was sheltering from the rain adjacent to the summer room which allowed me a close up view. This bird has all the signs of being a wagtail as it wagged its tail a lot, however I cannot find a type of wagtail that matches the markings.
The closest bird it resembles is a Grey Wagtail, however although the head/back/wing feathers are very similar, the breast, underpants and tail were pure white.
As I am not familiar with these birds in my native East Anglia, I would be grateful for any advice.
